We’ve been married for nearly 25 years and have three children: Nikola (already married), Jagoda and Michał. We live in the beautiful city of Gdańsk, Poland.

Ever since we met, it’s became obvious for us, that evangelical Christians should serve hand in hand for God’s glory, proclaiming His salvation in Jesus Christ. This is why we have organized a number of camps, outreaches, conferences and small groups, always inviting friends from different churches and Christian organizations.

The breakthrough moment came when we learned about the vision of Evangelical Poland – a movement aimed at bringing Christians together in the service for the Lord. The ultimate goal is to see evangelical Christianity grow from 0,2% to 1% of the population by 2050. This vision touched us so deeply, that we decided to join the movement as volunteers, leading some projects in the field of our expertise. After several months of working two jobs and intensive prayer, in 2020 we both decided to let go of our professional careers and serve God full time as missionaries. We want to devout the rest of our lives to the vision of unity among evangelical Christians – something that was on Jesus’ heart, as we read in John 17:20-21:

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me”

Mekha and Monika

My name is Mekha Awad, and together with my Polish wife Monika, we serve among Arabic speaking people in the capital city of Poland, Warsaw. We deeply believe and try to fulfill God's Great Commission to go into the World and make disciples of all the nations (Matthew 28:18-20). We help those who already trusted Jesus to be mature in their faith and follow Him wholeheartedly.

We've already witnessed how God has brought us into conversations with individuals from Muslim backgrounds visiting refugee camps.

With the desire to serve among both refugees and Arabic speaking people, God is sending us to European countries as well. We need faithful brothers and sisters to pray for us.

In Christ,

Natalia Balcer

In 2001, when I was a sophomore, I went to a Christmas Conference for Baptist youth in Poland. This is where I heard people speak about personal relationship with God and heard them pray with their own words - for the first time in my life. It all made me wonder about how one can have a relationship with God. One girl told me that Jesus accepts me the way I am and that I don’t have to win His approval by doing good things. It inspired me and made me find my Bible. It also made me ask more questions. A month after the conference I finally understood that Jesus died on the cross for me and that I have to invite Him into my life. I made this decision and invited Christ into my life as my Lord and Saviour at the beginning of 2002 and this is when my life began to change.

I believe that this is a command that Jesus gave us: Go and make disciples. Being a missionary is one of the ways to be obedient to His message. It is also an amazing way to serve others and see them grow and change

Don & Betty Orr

Both Betty and I independently felt called to overseas ministry. We met in church and then committed to study and prepare for this before we were married. After initial year of marriage, maintaining our church ministries, we embarked on Bible school planting a church and preparing for working overseas. Initial call was one of obedience. In 2017 on a vision trip to northern Iraq, we both felt God calling us specifically to serve here. It was as if he spoke to us independently within 20 minutes of each other.

As above, we are serving in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Our primary role is team development as well as supporting local churches. We anticipate being here until retirement or until God specifically calls us somewhere else.
